Girl Undiscovered

Girl Undiscovered

Here at The Oh Nine, we are BIG lovers of a) skincare, and b) New Zealand brands. SO, we couldn’t wait to get our little mitts on the pretty packages from Girl Undiscovered, a skincare brand sourced from nature and made right here in NZ.

The Girl Undiscovered slogan is ‘100% WILD’, with a commitment to natural ingredients that your skin will thank you for. They are completely involved in the development of their products, working alongside global village farmers and their families, and even knowing their suppliers by name. After years of just buying big names in skincare, not knowing anything about how it was created, it feels good to know exactly what’s going on your face and where it came from. And more than that, to know that it was created ethically and sustainably, benefitting not only you, but the hands that made it.

These products are all about natural beauty, and real girls. And my gosh, they are dreamy. After a few weeks using Girl Undiscovered, we’ve seen our skin reduce in redness, and increase in glow and softness. One of our mums (sneakily) has been using it, and has seen really positive results in diminishing her problematic (her own words lol) dry and sensitive skin. Here’s our break down of the products:

Under the Waterfall Crystal Cleansing Water

This is a 3-in-1 micellar water used to cleanse, tone, and gently removed make-up.

We’ve been using it every day, and cannot describe how refreshing it is to wake up your skin with this in the morning. You just feel clean and energised. It's also great at removing make-up at the end of the day. Occasionally at night we’ll use it before a deep cleanser or face mask if we’re feeling like we need some extra effort, otherwise it’s perf on its own! It’s also packaged so beautifully, and it’s v fun to shake it and have the wee crystals move around - enjoying your skincare regime is always a great incentive to actually do it daily!

Stars Aligning Organic Face Elixir

This is like an oil or serum, that can work instead of a moisturiser. We recently read on Into the Gloss (Emily Weiss, the CEO of Glossier's, blog, so ofc we’re listening) that an oil instead of a cream moisturiser does wonders for your skin. And after switching out night cream for this elixir, we’d bloody agree Emily! It gives your face a healthy, natural glow, and is also fab as a primer before make-up to give you that dewy look we’re all after atm.

Stumbled Across Paradise Face Mask

This hot commodity has just come back in stock, so we’ve only used it once. But it was delish. We love a good face mask, and this is no exception. You can tell just by the look/feel/smell of it how natural it is, and as such you know its doing some good thangs. They suggest you leave it on for 20 minutes, then exfoliate it in and leave on for longer - but you could even just use it as a straight scrub if you’re in a rush #girlonthego #theygetit

Okay, if you’re not getting it, we are HUGE fans of this little brand. They’re proving to us all that businesses have no reason to compromise transparency, ethics, sustainability, or a commitment to the highest quality for their customers. We’ve already said this in a previous post, but as we get deeper into our twenties, we’re realising more and more the importance of looking after our skin and getting that healthy, natural glow. It’s all about feeling comfortable in your own skin, and Girl Undiscovered is empowering us to get there, one pretty bottle of goodness at a time.
